The series is subdivided by format and function into Subseries A: Subject Files, 1953-2004; Subseries B: Membership Files, 1950s-1998; and Subseries C: Newspaper Clippings, 1950s-1997. Subseries A is further subdivided into parts depending on subject groups: Part 1: Strikes, 1953-ca. 1979, which is arranged chronologically; and Part 2: General Subject Files, 1955-2004, which is arranged alphabetically by folder title.
