Content Description

Recordings, notes, and transcripts from interviews with Harry Bridges, several of Bridges' family members, and dozens of organizers who were active in the ILWU, the labor movement, and the Communist Party during the twentieth century. Includes records of the over 100 interviews conducted by Cherny, as well as materials from others gathered by Cherny in the course of his research. Also includes recordings and some transcripts from commemorative events related to Harry Bridges and the ILWU, including Bridges' 85th birthday celebration and a 1986 event remembering the 1934 strike.
