Biography

Lenora "Nori" Davis (1933-1990) was an activist and graphic artist from Chicago, Ill. In 1976 she moved to California with her husband, Bob Lawson, to work on the Tom Hayden U.S. Senate campaign. After Hayden lost the primary, Nori and Bob began working with the United Farm Workers Union at Delano on the statewide Yes on Proposition 14 campaign. Nori created and designed outreach materials. In late 1976 Nori and Bob moved to the Imperial Valley (Calif.) where they continued to work with the UFW on union elections and organizing drives through 1977. Nori was in charge of the propaganda department and worked closely with graphic artist Alberto Escalante, local organizers and Marshall Ganz.
