Biography

Born and raised in New York State, Lynn Riorden arrived in San Francisco in 1981. She transitioned in 1997, and was fired from her job as a programmer in 1999 after coming out as a trans woman to her employer. She joined SEIU Local 1021 while employed with the City of Berkeley and later served as the union's communications staff person for the organizing department.
