Biography

Jean-Margaret Strauss served as the first female sheet metal worker in San Mateo Local 272. She began her apprenticeship in 1977, just prior to the merging of the San Francisco-San Mateo locals into one single union: Sheet Metal Local 104. Prior to that, Strauss worked as a solar specialist for an environmental lobbying group.
