Scope and Contents
Collection contains records of the California Labor Federation from 1909 to 2000. Predominantly consist of California Labor Federation In The News, bound clippings collated by a news clippings service covering the years 1998 to 2000, and pamphlets, speeches, and clippings related to the history of Labor Day. Earlier material consist of pamphlets on labor issues, booklets of agreements and proceedings, labor-related comic books, and promotional flyers and ephemera used to gather opposition to propositions. George W, John's 1989 unpublished manuscript on the history of the San Francisco Labor Council, AFL-CIO is also included in this collection.
