Series Description

This series contains the official minutes and recorded proceedings of the various conventions and conferences conducted under the authority of the Federation as a whole. It offers the best overview of the activities and official policies of the organization. Supporting documents include various resolutions and reports issued by the various district, sub-district and affiliated unions submitted to the Federation as well as correspondence and credentials files pertaining to the business conducted at the annual conventions. Of particular note is the correspondence from Tom Mooney delivered to the first convention of 1935 and the two special meetings convened on Alaska labor in 1938 and 1940 . The originating convention and final convention files offer insights into the perceived need for the Federation, its successes and failures.
