The Pesticide series is arranged into two sub-series: the Community Study on Pesticides sub-series and the Task Group on Occupational Exposure to Pesticides sub-series. The Community Study on Pesticides sub-series consists of Anderson’s records when he served as a research assistant on the study. Documents include administrative records and correspondence, illness reports, morbidity study, chemical labels and usage information, sudden death reports, childhood poisoning, mosquito abatement study, and various publications from California departments of Agricultural, Public Health, and other governmental agencies. The Task Group on Occupational Exposure to Pesticides sub-series contains Anderson’s documents from when he served as assistant to Task Group Chair Dr. Thomas Milby. It contains meetings notes and correspondence between Anderson, Milby, Dr. Ephraim Kahn, and Edwin Johnson. Also contains reports related to chemical use, exposure, re-entry times, and pesticide tolerance. Contains information from various organizations such as the American Chemical Society and Environmental Protection Agency, and includes California Department of Health recommendations on pesticide safety and California Farmer Consumer Reporter newsletters. Topics covered include farmer-related issues, crops and pesticides (citrus, grape, and peach), chemical effects on workers, workmen’s compensation and worker safety issues, and the Federal Environmental Pesticide Control Act (FEPCA).
