Scope and Contents
Transcripts, drafts, correspondence, and notes relating to an interview with Sam Krieger conducted by Bruce Kaiper and Lou Laub concerning Whittaker Chambers, an American writer and former Communist spy who testified about Communist espionage in 1948. Krieger took Chambers to his first Communist Party meeting in 1925. Chambers has claimed that Krieger was the first American Communist he ever met. Also contains assorted flyers, newsletters, and publications, including promotional materials for the Radical Elders Oral History Project.
