Includes reports and minutes from the Retail Clerks of California, District Council #2; literature from the United Committee for Boycott of Japanese Goods and the S.F. County Council Labor's Non - Partisan League; intent to organize letters to store owners as well as negotiations over store closing times, the central issue of the early union; and requests for and permission-to-strike sanctions. The Retail Clerks International Association (RCIA) correspondence focuses on letters to and from the International and contains letters from McGuire, James Suffridge, and Vernon Housewright. Some noteworthy letterheads included in the series.
