Scope and Contents
Two scrapbooks of news clippings cover events from 1935 to 1938 related to HRB, waterfront unions, the Maritime Federation of the Pacific and the early years of the CIO. A third scrapbook covers the second HRB deportation trial in 1942. There are eight issues of the Waterfront Worker and 15 issues of The American Citizen, an anti-Communist paper. One leaflet, unsigned, ridicules Edward Vandeleur of the San Francisco Labor Council. Two newspapers have been relocated to the Oversize News Print boxBthe S.F. Examiner, 7/10/34, reporting the funeral march of Sperry and Bordoise, and the S. F. News , 6/4/38, reporting the Town Hall Meeting of the CIO and the Committee of 43.
