Scope and Contents note
This collection primarily contains correspondence and reports about the UAW organizing drive in the aircraft industry of Southern California, particularly the Vultee and North American Aviation strikes. There is a complete series of The Vultee Striker, and news clippings on the North American strike. His “Fellow Members of the C.I.O.” letters discuss the purging of leftists from the Los Angeles CIO Industrial Union Council and the trial of Harry Bridges among other topics.
