Scope and Contents

Primarily correspondence, arbitration and court case documents related to La Joie v. Bay Counties District Council, a class action lawsuit brought by La Joie against the United Brotherhoodof Carpenters and Joiners of America in response to the restructuring of the Bay Counties Disctrict Council of Carpenters in 1988. The chief concerns in the suit were the los of locally elected business agents and the transfer of union treasuries to the district council.
