Scope and Contents
A wide variety of material related to Jackson’s career in the ILGWU including award certificates, correspondence, various ILGWU contract agreement booklets, pamphlets, constitutions, a song book, convention material (primarily the 41st ILGWU convention, 1992), clippings, issues of the national ILGWU newspaper Justice (1970, 1974), and other documents related to retiree benefits, the international garment trade, and the Sawyer Strike. Also includes approximately 550 photographs, primarily group portraits at union events and in union halls, including a Macy’s Department Store protest (1985), garment workers on the job, contract negotiations with Koret, Chinese American union related events, and a 1968 ILGWU national convention panorama.
