Scope and Contents
Union WAGE, San Francisco Chapter, material including Executive Board, Publications Committee, convention and newsletter files; material on occupational health and safety; agendas and detailed notes on a wide variety of meetings, leaflets, brochures, newsletters, election material, clippings, correspondence and membership lists. Also includes San Francisco material on the Coalition of Labor Union Women (1974-1976), and the Coalition for Workers Rights campaign around the Industrial Welfare Commission hearings (1976).
Also included are two cartons of materials related to Arnold's work with the California Federation of Teachers, the San Francisco Federation of Teachers, and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Local 61, from 1971-1975.

Biography
In her statement when she was a candidate for vice-president, Jan described her active participation in Union W.A.G.E. as beginning in 1976. It continues into the 1978–1979 period. She was elected Vice-President, served on the Executive Board, and was active in the San Francisco Chapter. Arnold was also active in the Coalition for Workers Rights, a Union-W.A.G.E. sponsored organization formed in 1976 and endorsed by trade unions and community groups to support workers’ rights under Cal-OSHA and the California Industrial Welfare Commission.
