Scope and Content of Collection

Sound recording of interview with eletriction, labor activist, and member of Tradeswomen, Inc., Molly Martin, conducted by Casey Conor. This oral history was conducted as part of the Labor Archives and Research Center Oral History Project. In the interview, Martin describes the organizational history of Tradeswomen, Inc., founded in 1979 to support women in the skilled trades at the local, state, and national level, and discusses her role as editor of Tradeswomen Magazine. The interview also covers her experiences as a blue-collar woman in a non-traditional, male-dominated industry, and her involvement in organizations such as Nontraditional Employment for Women.

Biography

Long-time tradeswoman activist, electrician, and electrical inspector for the city of San Francisco, Molly Martin was a member of Tradeswomen, Inc., and editor of Tradeswomen magazine.
