Personal Correspondence, ILWU files, 1948
This largest series holds files of personal correspondence to and from HRB which were kept in the ILWU offices from 1936 to 1977 while he was ILWU International President. Included is personal correspondence and selected union correspondence which he chose to keep private. This is material that was not sent to the ILWU Archives, as all other office files would have been after two years. When HRB retired, he took his “Personal” files home.
