Scope and Contents
Includes photocopies of primary sources, articles, clippings, and notes relating to Longmore's research in U.S. history. The content of primary sources dates from 1619. Also includes drafts and published copies of Longmore's manuscripts “‘All Matters and Things relating to Religion and Morality’: The Virginia Burgesses’ Committee for Religion, 1769 to 1775”; “‘good English without idiom or tone’: The Colonial Origins of American Speech”; and “From Supplicants to Constituents: Petitioning by Virginia Parishioners, 1701-1775.”

Collection is open for research. Access restrictions are placed on material with privacy issues for a specific time period from the date of creation. Access to personal correspondence from third parties is restricted for 20 years from the date of creation or until the death of the author, whichever occurs first, and will be further reviewed at that time.
